Bilingual Therapist Internship
Internship providing direct services for continually evolving counseling program.  Provide ongoing counseling to individuals, children, families and/or groups.  Formulate psychosocial diagnoses, develop clinical goals and treatment plans, and initiate clinically-indicated intervention.  Supervision will be provided weekly and as needed with Clinic Coordinator.  Salary DOE.

Requirements:

  • MSW or MA Counseling/Psychology from an accredited University
  • Valid Intern registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Experience in counseling children and families preferred
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate sufficiently in both English and Spanish
  • Working knowledge of Latino culture, including family relations and child-rearing practices.
  • Background check and TB screen clearance required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance

Bilingual Family Advocate/ Program Assistant
FSA has received funding through First 5 of Santa Barbara for a new P/T Family Advocate position (36 hrs per/wk). Bilingual in Sp/Eng required. Relevant experience in early child development and case management necessary. Proven office and computer skills required. Database management preferred.

Basic Duties:

  • Provide strength-based case management services to families with children 0-5 years of age.
  • Link children and families to community and medical resources.
  • Administer the Ages & Stages Developmental Screening tool to identify developmental delays in children 0-5 and provide appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and community based organizations.
  • Maintain confidential documentation and case records in compliance with HIPPA and agency expectations.
    • Collect and enter raw data into a database.
  • Generate reports based on information requested by First 5.

Clinical Supervisor/Senior Mental Health Therapist- Lompoc
The Clinical Supervisor/Senior Mental Health Therapist is a joint position.  The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the operations of the Lompoc Clinical Programs of Family Service Agency. The duties include responsibility for clinical supervision of staff. The Clinical Supervisor reports to the Coordinator of Community-Based Programs.  The Senior Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing outreach to senior and disabled adult clients, conducting comprehensive assessments, establishing treatment plans, conducting weekly individual and/or group counseling and maintaining appropriate case files.

Location: Lompoc
Classification: PT- 30 Hours per Week
Salary: Dependent on Education and Experience

Qualifications and Standards of Clinical Supervisor:
The Clinical Supervisor must be licensed in the State of California as an LCSW or MFT for at least two years and have completed Supervision Courses as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences within the current licensing period. It is essential that the incumbent have at least two years experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity. Also essential are leadership ability, knowledge of current clinical practices and literature, demonstrated oral and written skills, and knowledge of the consultation process.

Qualifications and Standards of Senior Mental Health Therapist:
Must be licensed in the State of California as a LCSW or MFT.  Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred.  Bicultural background is desirable.  Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance is required
