Exxon Summer Internship/Big Brothers Big Sisters and 2-1-1 of Santa Barbara County
This Internship is a great opportunity for a college student to gain hands-on non-profit experience assisting with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and 2-1-1 Helpline. Intern will assist with the intake functions of the mentoring program and various projects. Additionally, the intern will assist with the day to day operations of the information and referral hotline. This is a special position funded by a grant from Exxon Mobile. This position is classified as part-time, seasonal/summer, and is non-exempt. This position will pay $8.93 per hour for 35.0 hours per week, and will last for a period of 8 weeks between May 16, 2009 and August 31, 2009. Interest in non-profit work and excellent verbal/written communication preferred; computer skills a plus.
Bilingual Family Advocate/ Program Assistant
FSA has received funding through First 5 of Santa Barbara for a new P/T Family Advocate position (36 hrs per/wk). Bilingual in Sp/Eng required. Relevant experience in early child development and case management necessary. Proven office and computer skills required. Database management preferred.
Basic Duties:

Provide strength-based case management services to families with children 0-5 years of age.

Link children and families to community and medical resources.

Administer the Ages & Stages Developmental Screening tool to identify developmental delays in children 0-5 and provide appropriate referrals when necessary.

Collaborate with other agencies and community based organizations.

Maintain confidential documentation and case records in compliance with HIPPA and agency expectations.
• Collect and enter raw data into a database.

Generate reports based on information requested by First 5.
Bilingual Family Advocate

Exxon Summer Internship/Counseling and Family Resource Center Intern
This Internship is a great opportunity for a college student to gain hands-on non-profit experience assisting with various procedures and projects in the Counseling Department at our Lompoc office. This position will also work closely with FSA’s Family Resource Center, also known as the Dorothy Jackson Center. This is a special position contingent upon funding by a grant from Exxon Mobile. This position is classified as part-time, seasonal/summer, and is non-exempt. This position will pay $8.93 per hour for 35.0 hours per week, and will last for a period of 8 weeks between May 16, 2009 and August 31, 2009. An Interest in non-profit work, counseling, and working with children and families is preferred.
