Senior Case Management
In South Santa Barbara County , bilingual staff provides advocacy and case management services to help isolated, underserved seniors live safely and with dignity. Our Case Manager provides linkages to community services, companionship, translation and friendly visiting. In particular, our case manager helps ensure that seniors are connected to and obtain critical services. These services include meal delivery, transportation to doctor and dentist appointments and advocacy with organizations such as Social Security, Medicare, Visiting Nurses, Hospice Care and the Santa Barbara County Immigration Department. Services are offered at no cost.

Senior Mental Health
In South Santa Barbara County and Lompoc, professional counselors provide individual and group therapy for low-income seniors, age 60 and over. Services are provided free of charge and can help with: feelings of anxiety, anger or depression; frustrations with the challenges of aging; coping with stress of illness or health problems; loss of loved ones; feelings of grief or bereavement; and coping with marital difficulties or divorce. Therapy is short-term (typically 8 to 12 sessions or less) and goal oriented. Services are available in English and Spanish.

Homemaker and Safe
Points
FSA has transitioned the Homemaker Program and Safe Points to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care (VNHC), who has assumed operation of the programs, in an effort to increase collaboration and sustain critical services. VNHC has assumed operations of these services and will continue the in-home care program offering assistance with light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping to help seniors and those with disabilities live safely and independently at home.

S.A.I.L. (Services Aimed at
Independent Living)
Family Service Agency is no longer providing SAIL services. If you are in need of home maintenance or repair services related to home safety, such as installing grab bars or wheelchair ramps, but do not know where to find help, please call Scott Whiteley, Associate Executive Director, at 805-965-1001 x 240. We may be able to provide you with possible referrals.
